Complements most every food. Mild, sweet oniony taste.
Can be grown from seed but simpler to start with potted plant. Clumps should be divided every 3 to 4 years.
Freeze surplus......cut, wash and dry leaves then chop and spread on a cookie sheet. Put in the freezer until frozen. Store in freezer bag. Chives will stay green and flavorful.

Parsley
To keep fresh....wash the entire bunch in warm water, shake off all excess moisture, wrap in paper towel and seal in plastic bag.
For longer storage, remove paper towl, place the sealed bag in freezer. Then when needed for cooked dishes, soups, stews, etc. simply break off amount needed and crumble.
